hai friends...
every behaviour is supposed to have three elements...i.e stimuli or input, cognition and resultant behaviour or output...of course, emotion is also a byproduct. Anything without even one of these elements is not a correct, happiness giving or lasting behaviour.
But when we hear anything from a Master or guru or swamiji etc or when we read anything from holi or sacred books, we only hear / read (i.e input) and straight away accept it and convert into a behaviour...there is no cognition element!!!!...i.e we don't think and analyse it. We presume that it should be right. We think that analyzing it is a sin, wrong or disrespect etc.
the great tamil poet thiruvalluvar says 'yepporul yaar yaar vaai ketpinum apporul meipporul kaanpathu arivu!'...i.e when ever we hear anything from any one (who ever it is) we have to analyse and get the real meaning and applicability...that is the purpose of sixth sense!
It may be right for the person who said or for small group or only a particular period of time. It may be not applicable for all, all the time and all societies. So, cognition is a mustttttt!...we need to think each and every issue we read or hear and modify to our suitability and convert it to behaviour. Then only it will correct for us, not stressing our lives, gives happiness all the time, no sadness or difficulty or discomfort and it would be long lasting.
