Dear all...THIS IS FOR THE TEENAGERS AND THOSE BETWEEN 20 TO 40 YEARS OF AGE!
Yesterday i attended a mega community function which was arranged to recognise, award and felicitate the children who excelled in academics at the school, district and state level in 10th and +2. On completion of the function there was a tea party. Two girls (out of about 30) who were in their plus one vomited and fainted. I could see some of them tired. Imagine if this happens during their final exams when they are at their ultimate stress in mind and body!...Every year thousands of children faint or vomit or black out or white-out and suffer memory loss before entering exam hall or inside exam hall resulting in loss of all the hard-work they have put in for years and years!! I was told by their parents that they sleep only for two hours, do not eat well and in time, eat lots of junk food and therefore are heavily stressed!!
I agree that the competition for the 10th and +2 students, and also to those in the adult hood in organisations is very tough and they have to work hard for long hours losing their sleep.
But certainly they can do the following without much loss of time, efforts and energy...
1. Keep their eyes closed whenever they are recollecting what they have read, during school bus or other travels and other times when their body parts are not doing anything. Mind can think calmly. Keeping the eyes closed gives good rest.
2. Keeping a tread mill near the study table and running for 05 mts in a day in the morning and evening keeps the heart and circulatory system good so that brain gets more oxygen which is required for focus, attention, memory retention etc.
3. Sit quietly with closed eyes, relax the mind for for two minutes at mid-day and night as mind gets tired after 5 to 6 hours of study.
4. Stress forces us to live a sedentary life (and sedentary life gives us stress) and hog on sedentary foods that are tasty and not good for health. This further affects our health and studies. Eat lots of leaves, stems, green vegetables and fruits with less starch so that they give you energy, keep you fresh, keep you away from sleep, and not make you feel hungry. Keep drinking lots of butter milk and lemon juice with less sugar and salt. All these can be taken unlimited and stomach full. Avoid oily and fatty stuff as they give more sleep.
5. All girls lose lots of blood every month and their HB goes low (due to less nourishing food also) resulting in tiredness, fainting, dizzy etc. Any girl fainting, take her to lab, and test her Hb. You will know that this is true. Eat one dates fruit in the morning and night. When Hb is between 12 to 14, you will not feel tired and fainting.
6. There is nothing worth gaining under the sky by losing health. If we can gain the same without losing the health, then why not?. Isn’t it?. If health is lost then everything we get by losing it will also be lost before they give their outcomes that we expected.
7. Don’t think about others being competitive. It is only a perception. Life is not a 100 mtre dash. It is a 50 years marathon. This competitive and relative thinking only gives anxiety. Anxiety only leads to stress. Let them publish the merit list as per comparative or relative merit...so what?...If we remove this anxiety then all the stress in the mind goes off and we will be very peaceful. Anxiety only causes all these fainting (when blood supply to the brain reduces below normal), black out, white-out, temporary memory loss etc. If you work hard, without comparison, remain cool and balanced, then you will find you will do much better than your performance-with-anxiety, and get fantastic marks, and do well in comparative and relative merit also in the professional course admission/merit list ranking. So, remain cool, remove anxiety, live stress free.
8. As mind gets tired, entertainment is a must to relax the mind. So, pursue that entertainment which removes the stress in a short time and you can get back to studies quickly. Entertainment with physical movement of the body parts is good.
9. Parents should be stress free first. Their perceived stress adds stress to children. Motivating them with confidence, encouragement, support and giving all the healthy things around is important. Inspiring the children by parents studying themselves and not indulging in any entertainment or socialising that will divert or disturb the child is also important.
Keep rocking....peacefully yours....rams!!
