Dear all...THIS IS FOR STUDENTS WHO WANT TO GET JOBS IN CAMPUS PLACEMENTS...
The first and foremost, the most important 'necessary' condition, to get a job is 'fluency in communication in English'!!
Without this, even if you have 9.9 cgpa or even if you are an IITian then be rest assured that you will not get any job!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, due to soooo many reasons, Indian students are very good in everything except in English communication!!!!
How to improve this skill??
'JUST SPEAK IN ENGLISH WITH THE PERSON WITH WHOM YOU SPEAK MORE IN A DAY!!'
Nothing more is necessary. Beggars have not gone to school but can speak good regional language. So, speaking skill comes by speaking. We can learn swimming only if we jump inside water. We can become a good dancer only when we dance. Singing comes only when we sing.
Gather one or two students who are interested in improving this skills and start describing what all you did that day from waking up and going to bed (day-to-day happening in our life). After getting confidence on this, after few days, start describing your conversation or argument or discussion which you had with another friend. If we are able to do these two, we can certainly answer any technical or non technical question in an interview (of course, if we know the answer!)
Start conversing with two-word english...e.g 'come here' 'go there' 'bring that' 'eat this' 'take this' etc
Then, after few days, converse with three-word english...'bring your assignment' 'collect my note book' etc
Then four-word english...e.g 'i will come tomorrow'...'you bring your note-book' etc
By this time you would have come out of the shyness, fear, inhibitions, 'what others will think' ...false image etc.
Then speak in phrases...
After this you will be able to speak in complete sentences without your knowledge!!!
Listen to good speeches in Youtube. e.g speeches of Obama and other great English speakers etc
Then you will get accent.
When you read more and more, when you have good knowledge, you will be able to speak enriched sentences with great English accent!!
All the best!!
Peacefully yours...Rams...Psychologist!!
