Reasons for failure of students in subjects...and may be in college life too...."Life skills-Understanding Adolescence-Part II"

Hai all....

why students fail in colleges?...some reasons are...

‘I don’t like this course!’

‘I don’t like the college!’

‘I don’t like hostel, food, room mates, subjects, teacher, social environment….

‘I lived with my parents, siblings, relatives and pet animals all throughout…I want them!

‘I am not happy!’ – reason may be friends, parents, environment of family, college, hostel, society

Diversions-love, films, mobile (talk, sms etc) internet (mails, chat, social networks), chit chats, parties, outing, dating, video games, sports, private behaviours…

(balance between studies, rest and entertainment is essential…time to be less in rest and entertainment and more in studies)

‘I am interested in X. It gives me happiness and satisfaction. So, I spend more time on this!’

‘I hate attending classes, seeing the books and teachers!’

‘I don’t like controls, rules, regulations-parents, college, hostel’

New place, new people, new friends, new teachers, new subjects…no spoon feeding.

Missing of parents, friends, relatives, pets, village, farm, birth place etc

Change of food…missing mother’s cooking
Washing and ironing

Some are still school children…do only things which give them happiness

Not responsible enough for their own selves (spoon feeding from parents earlier)

Still childish in adolescence (13 to 18 years)…some are adolescent even after 18 (18 to 40 is early adult hood)

Adolescence is a transient stage between childhood and adulthood-a stage in which they are maturing physically, mentally, emotionally and socially…NOT MATURED in all these aspects.

ohhh...the post has grown long...we will see more later....

adolescently yours....rams...health psychologist....!!
