How this country can become a real super power?

Dear all…THIS IS FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS AND RICH PEOPLE...in the past it was believed that strong fundamentals in sciences and applied sciences are important to be a research scientist in the field of engineering.
So, there was a six semester (03 years) course called B.Sc (Applied Sciences) in few elite engineering colleges and the degree was awarded from FACULTY OF ENGINEERING and NOT FROM Faculty of Sciences.
We all did that course. Per semester 07 theory papers and 03 labs. So, in total 42 theory papers and 18 labs. Maths, physics and chemistry were there all six semesters, making up for 18 papers. Remaining 24 papers were core engineering subjects.
Each semester four important subjects of one discipline of engg was taught. So, during six semesters six generic engineering disciplines were covered.
The classes were combined classes with engg students. For e.g during first semester if we had a subject Solid Mechanics, if it was being taught for fourth sem civil engg students we had combined classes with them!!
Out of the three labs, one was for the lab related to the engineering subjects taught that sem. Remaining two were physics and chemistry. So, in all six lab subjects from six engineering disciplines were there.
This gave…1. Strong fundamentals in sciences 2. Important knowledge about six disciplines of engineering
So, they could take up any field of engineering as their profession and research. They had wide engg knowledge.
Such courses should be introduced so that a sizable number of researchers will be strong in pure and applied sciences and they could be used where required.
Presently the society is interested in money, fast wealth and therefore they want a well paid job. Also as the 70 to 80% of the job market is with IT jobs, the course content has changed with more IT related subjects and therefore the course, though exists still, has lost its fundamental importance with which It was conceived!!
An industrial nation, a nation that wants to become a super power, a nation that has great intelligent people in its society needs to have such people who are very strong in fundamental sciences and applied sciences to groom to be great engineering scientists. Institutions with generous funding and liberal policies and great working atmosphere are required for such people to come out with world class research in this country too!!
Only then this country will become a real super power…a nation that can command through science and engineering…otherwise it will only be a good market for technologies which were researched in other countries and marketed here (probably produced too, but with the basic modules, PCBs etc imported from abroad)!!
peacefully yours....rams...
