"I have got 10 arrears in semester exams!"..."I am repeatedly failing in my school annual exams!"...Can i succeed in life???

hai guys and gals...how are we?

i received a mail from the boy who wanted to go to NASA saying he could not find out any information about organisations or people or institutions associated with NASA through google...such information will not be available in google readily...

we have to use a technique for that...i.e you type some information saying 'saturn rings shower rain on saturn'...or you just write 'findings of _____'...fill the blank with some planet or start or satellite etc...type this in google...you will find some news or some article...in that you will find so and so has done this research...or so and so university has done this researching and found this...so and so organisation has done this research etc...you type 'researches on mars' in google, you will get many links where names of organisations, people, institutions etc will be there...

for e.g yesterday i.e 12 apr 13 The Hindu news paper, on first page, Coimbatore edition, left hand top corner, it is written that Nasa is funding University of Leicestor, England for carrying out research on Saturn, and they have found out that Saturn rings are showering rain on saturns surface…now we know one univ which is supporting nasa…like this we have to get the information…at some other place we might get the name of some scientist or university or research lab which is doing something for nasa….
I hope you can find now more information and tell me later the list of univs or orgs or people…will you?

you make a tabular column saying sl no, name of the institution or r&d lab, facilities, research efforts, area of focus, contact details of people etc so that in once glance at the tabular column we will get all the info...do that and send it to me...you can improve the table with more columns depending upon the information you find...

so this is the way to get more details...

for all those who want to see Prof S Narasimhan's photo (the man who produced world famous aerospace scientists including Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for about 36 years(!!!) during mid of last century when wright brothers flew the first aeroplane in early last century), visit funnyrams.blogspot.com...you can see his photo...of course, some of my photos too along with him...
*:) happy

many students fail in many subjects at college level and think they are worthless...they give it up...they even commit suicide...most of them are good students at school level scoring 100 out of 100 or nearby...these successful students become failures at colleges due to distractions...for the reasons of 'not interested in the subject'...'not liking college and hostel'...love affairs...too many social relationships and unable to meet the demands of their friends...poor economic background...getting addicted to social networks...booze...smoking...pubs...parties...sex...etc...

some are poor with less intelligence even at school level...so both the students and parents feel upset and decide something low in their life...

my opinion is, 'failures in exams or subjects' is not an indicator of our future life...i know may students who got arrears...loads and loads of arrears...doing well in life!...by this i am not recommending all to fail in exams...!...what is required is we should not give up. In my own personal life i have made many students who kept on failing in subjects or school times to continue education...they may not clear 10th std at the age of 15...so what?....they may not clear their bachelor's degree at the age of 20 or 21...so what?...they might take little more time...by months or years...so what???...no one lives here for 100 years...what is the guaranty that the first ranker, gold medalist, IITian or IIMian will not die at 45 or 50?...why not these failure cases live upto 80 or 90?...so losing one or two years or even more is not a problem...no loss of life or time or money...the time lost or oppurtunities lost or money lost can be compensated, if we are focused, bull headed, burn with fire of succeeding in life, have good physical, mental and social health habits....

i have many examples of such cases...one who kept on failing in school days is now a BCom, MBA and MSc  earning about 30 thousand at the age of 28...another girl of the same category is now DCE, BTech, MBA and lecturer in a college...my class mate who failed in many maths papers completed his masters, mphil and phd in maths and has grown from lecturer to HOD to secretary and director of group of (arts, science, engg and mgmt) institutions only due to own personal efforts and skills i have listed below!...another classmate who failed in chemistry completed his masters, mphil and phd in chemistry and has written many books in chemistry!!!..they are fine examples of not giving up in life!

i never passed in maths till half yearly of 10th std...you know what i am now!...there are many who got arrears in college days but became not only successful but became great achievers in life...best e.g is Dr APJ Abdul Kalam!!!

in my class we were 40 at MIT. The wealth, fame and hierarchical positions reached in organisations is not commensurate with the marks we got in college...some of the top rankers are low on the above scale of measurement...some of the 30 to 40th rankers are at top positions...it is not just the knowledge that makes a person successful...it is the

1. hardwork
2. skills
3. overall personality with high EQ and SQ
4. moral values and ethics
5. spear headed
6. zeal to learn throughout life
7. good managerial and leadership qualities

which make a person successful in life. Marks, ranks, gold medals etc can help only to get the first job!...after that they don't have any value unless they are supported by your skills...in fact they might dig your own grave if not supported by the skills...if you say you are a gold medalist and they find you do not have stuff in you during interview, then your own gold medal will dig your grave!

so, even if you have 10 arrears, don't faint!...clear them in multiples or even one by one...no problem!!...'clearing' is what is more important than 'when'!...using the technique prof s narasimhan mentioned in this speech, i.e by doing mtech and phd, we can always get a job...teaching job is guaranteed as there is...and there will be...always a shortage there for ever. By teaching we can improve our knowledge and communication skills and get our dream job...if not at 21, but certainly at 27 or 28 after phd and teaching...in the worst case...even before is possible if we put in little effort...21 or 28 does not matter when we don't know when our life will finish...at 50 or 70!!!...some '28's even cross 21's in wealth and promotions at 50...it is a marathon over a period of 30 or 40 years starting from 21!...in a marathon who starts first is not an issue...who reaches the end point first is the issue!!!...21s with compromises and sacrifices...and due to less EQ and SQ (as intelligence increases, EQ decreases...a proven truth!), many don't reach the goals...28s with high EQ and SQ can easily cross the 21s...of course, 21s don't have mtech and phd...whereas 28s have that!!!!

even if children are continuously failing, no problem!...let them continue...they will pass one day and even become great achievers!!!

buddha was not buddha at the time of birth or during child hood!
Dr APJ was not Dr APJ at the time of birth or even when he was at MIT!

today with so much of freedom in education, through open universities and distance education, i don't think anything can be hurdle, other than the individual!!!

all my schooling was without fees..in tamil medium...and even today we can study without fees in corporation schools...in english medicum...or with minimal fees in average schools...books are same for all students...question paper is same for all students...every one can score 100 out of 100...it is up to us how much we grab!...we can not blame others or system!

during my school days in 1970s all relatives and visitors said 'today education has become a business!...one can not dream to get an engg seat without 2 or 3 lakhs!'...these statements are spoken not only in 1970s but even today...will be there forever!...but not true!...my parents and relatives were a great source of discouragement...but i was adamant...and got seat through national merit in entrance exam for MIT...even at psg i got admission through merit...parents paid fees only for my bsc at psg...MIT fees was sponsored by my employer...so, economic condition is not a reason!...most of my mit class mates or batch mates were from very poor economical background of not even guaranteed of two meals a day, sleeping in open places, temples, etc!

why study at mediocre institutions in india...we can even study at Standford USA or Massachusetts Inst of technology USA or any other Ivy League univ of USA sitting here on line...free of cost...and get their certificates...!!!....

www.coursera.org is the place where you can study courses of 62 top universities of the world including Stanford.

www.edx.org is the place where you can study courses of Harvard or Massachusetts or any other top univ in the world...

NPTEL is another indian place where we can learn...even IITs have posted their study materials or e-learning materials, videos, tutorials on line...

so, the crux is...it is up to us what we want to become...our intelligence or IQ or economic condition of family are not the barriers...what we need is all that i listed above to become successful in life...the 'will' to succeed!!...not the marks or passing in exams or gold medals etc...remember, this i am telling for the weak students...not to demotivate high IQ students...but to motivate the high IQ students to improve their EQ and SQ and other qualities listed above...to tell the high IQ students not to be 'over confident' and 'under estimate' low performers!

ok guys and gals...bye...keep rocking!*:-h wave
