hai friends...hmmm...bored about sending mails on issues related to behaviours of human beings...so, now an interesting mail on behaviours of robots...which i had sent to indian psychologists groups some time back...in the next mail we will see some interesting comments of senior psychologists in the group about this mail...ok vaa....byeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

dear friends...

thank you for all the pouring mails on some of the issues i have submitted to the forum.

To take you all to another dimension...i have sent this mail.

India is on the fast to be a superpower. To compete with the competitors our industries have to resort to automation for quality, standardization, increased productivity etc. Along with this comes Robots which help us where monotony and danger are involved.

Intelligent robots and artificial intelligence are the key areas where the focus is there. Lots of researches are on globally to produce humanoid robots which resemble the human beings as close as possible in intelligence. Not only behaviours but most of the personality traits too!

So, programming of robots, advanced sensors and processing systems are being focused in research so that the robots can sense all the environmental factors like we sense, processors understand the stimuli the way we understand and the robots respond in behaviours and emotions too as we respond. So, the aim is to make the robots to learn from the environment and create or modify behaviours, the way learn and modify behaviours. Can you now see how robotics is related to psychology!!!...all those who would have wondered looking at my profile as to what is the relationship between robotics and psychology would have got the answer by now i suppose!

So, there is lot of scope for psychologists in development of robotics...to make the machines learn like human beings and become intelligent.

Towards there is a special interest group full of US scientists in the field of robotics and psychology who work together.  The yahoo group id is

behavioranalysisandrobotics-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Those who are interested in scratching their brains to scratch robotics can become member of this group and grow with this team.

Not only this...the challenges awaiting for psychologists are many fold.

Micro robots is an area where robots of the size of 'ten to the power of minus six metres' are developed....when we go to such miniature sizes the programming becomes extremely difficult as the complete physics principles change. I leave it to your imagination regarding the complexity of sensors, processors and behaviour control of robots!

It does not end here!

The nano robots which are of the same size or small than the size of cells and tissues in our body will in-future move in our body all over mixed with the blood so that we get the complete on line update of the health every micro or nanosecond in the brain and accordingly the brain will take the corrective action.  The result is we will not age and die. The nano robots will not have silicon or germanium but will have biological chemicals which can merge with human body comfortably. So, here too the psychologists have great challenge in creating and modifying behaviour of robots and making them to learn from their environment which our inner body.

Introducing changes in the protein structure inside the DNA and RNA the scientists will reach a state where in we can change the EQ, IQ etc of a human being through medical procedures...so all our theories on emotional intelligence, intelligence, creativity etc etc will all go for a six!!!

So, all these will lead to another new species which will have all the qualities of a human being with the amazing powers of supercomputers and will never die too as it will have the rejuvenating powers of organs or they can be replaced.

so, psychologists, how are you going to manage these guys?...we will have to burn all the psychology books and write new books and start new researches on these to formulate new theories...we have so many problems in understanding our own selves...the homosapiens!...so lots of challenges ahead for all of you psychologists!!!...are you all ready?

But i am scared about the social systems they are going to bring in, the types of gods, god men, superstitions and belief systems they will generate and the type of yahoo group we will have to start for managing those new breed of super psychologists who will manage those super humans!!!!...my advance tear drops for that moderator!!!!
