i have received many encouraging replies....thanks to all.....now the second day continues... .
adaptability. ...an important word in our lives...from the day we started our life as a single cell the struggle of adapting to the environment
and specially the people around has started....first we adapted to the
mother's body....her body abuses....then somehow grew up and came out to
see the world....do you know....the biggest challenge of adaptability and the 'the height of learning'
in an individual's life takes place during the first fifteen days from
the moment the umbilical chord is cut....more about this later...
every human being is different... .adapting to all the human beings
we meet every day...through out life....without causing stress in the
mind....and thereby causing damage to our body.....is it possible?...
..yes.... we can certainly try to reach this ideal situation... .of
course, zero stress is not possible ....as the natural environment
causes stress to the body and thereby to the mind....constantly inputs
go to our mind consciously and unconsciously interacting with each other
creating conflicts in the unconcious mind....
now read the following lines.....
ABNORMALITY:
The word Abnormal literally means “away from the normal’” but not
necessarily converge with those high-end behaviors that are better than or
superior to, normal performance. All undesirable behaviors are regarded as
abnormal.
Most of the behaviors studied by Abnormal Psychology are related to
human failures and inadequacies. These failures in productive living are due
mainly
to failures in adaptation. Adaptation involves the balance between what
people do and want to do, on the one hand and what the environment
(society) requires on the other.
Adaptation is dynamic process. How well a person adapts, depends on
two factors:
Personal characteristics -such as Physical health conditions, Attitude,
Skill etc
Nature of situation- that confront such as inadequate resources, family
conflict, natural disaster etc.
These two factors jointly determine whether one can survive, feel content,
and prosper. The extremely rapid rate of change in the modern world puts a
particular strain on a person to adapt. Human beings have developed subtle
language forms, a refined level of thinking, superior problem-solving skills,
intricate social relationships and complex communication processes all of
which affect behavior and its interpretation. Failure to adapt may affect
survival
of the organism. The individuals’ feelings of failure may damage their
social relationships and the human gene pool might be significantly
affected.
All maladaptive behaviors are deviant behaviors - maladaptive implies
that a problem exists, it also suggests that vulnerability in the individual,
inability
to cope, or Exceptional stress in the environment has led to problems
in living. Maladaptations range from chronic fears that are troubling
but not disabling to severe distortion of reality and inability to
function independently.
so, enough for today....see you tomorrow with more.....
