now the issue...

every day...we have seen many mad people in torn and dirty clothes, with long hairs...moving around without any direction...

what do we do when we site them?....most of the time, we just go with out noticing them...or throw stones at them ...or laugh at them...or feel like vomiting...or feel 'wofff...why did i look at him! so dirty, feel like vomiting and my day is gone!'

what could be their age?...anywhere between 20 to 55?...were they mad...sorry...there is no word called 'mad' or 'madness' in psychology!

This condition is called Schizophrenia...

Are they like this from birth?...no!...that means they lived normal life for many many years...they have parents...siblings...a network of relatives...they must have been living like any one of us earlier...may be with love and affection or without that...may be in a respectable job...may be from a respectable family...they can not tell anything because they are out of reality...they don't know who they are...their computer is zinxed!...they don't know where they are...we are able to see them and identify...they can not do anything of that sort...we don't have any clue about them...they have reached a stage where they can not be helped...any patient or the relative should tell the problem...but here no relative to tell and the patient can not say anything...sadddd!

why they became like this?...may be a disease affecting the brain!...may be an accident which has damaged or affected the brain!...a big shock...an emotional shock...like loss of job, loss of parents, loss of siblings or spouse or property and wealth or kids...or a feeling of rejection...physical assault...sexual assault...verbal tortures...lack of emotional support, love and affection...love failures...cheating...breach of trust or faith...the list is endless...!

did they become over night like this?...no!...they have reached this state over a period of time...then why did the people around did not notice?...most of us do not know that 'changes in behaviour' need to be carefully observed and such people should be taken to psychiatrists or clinical or counseling psychologists for treatment...we only shout at them 'why are you sitting like this! lazy dog!' and such abusive words...or take them to only temples...or think that ghost has entered them etc...so, neglect by people around has made them like this...

may be they have left their homes on their own or sent out...why did they leave?...as they are out of reality...don't know what is happening to them, where they are, who are around etc...

so, they have become mad not because of themselves but because of people around them...we have driven them mad!...we are responsible!

what will happen to them?...they will remain like this wandering around endlessly as long as they get food and are able to eat...their body parts function...they don't get any disease...after that they die!...what a sad state of life!!!

who are they?...they are any one like us. So, we can also become like them any time. In just a second. An accident. Brain damage. Brain infection. A tsunami or earthquake like natural disaster. There is no guarantee!...can you imagine you becoming mad...with long hairs...dirty clothes...not covering the body properly...no place to sleep...no one around...animals chasing...people throwing stones and rotten tomatoes at you...spitting on you...laughing at you...you eating all the shit...without knowing what it is...getting infected...lying around on the road side and in gutters...with wounds...with pus...with flies all around...woffff!...unable to imagine, is it?

have you ever seen a mad baby or mad child on roads...not beggers...mad children...No, is it!...thank god, we have identified the problems in children and taken them to the doctors!...can you imagine a small mad child on road suffering with all the above problems in society?

unable to imagine...is it not?

can you imagine your daughter or son or husband or wife or father or mother or brother or sister in that state?

so, what should we do?...let us take a new year oath!...that we will not create mad people...if we show love and affection and give proper medical care to the people around we will not create mad people! If we can, let us help the schizophrenic patients...or else, at least let us not add to their sufferings!
